"Twenty-five Chinese seniors with chronic physical pain have been invited to participate in a culturally congruent 8-week, Body-Mind-Spirit (BMS) training program. The following video showcases Chinese seniors, from Grand Street Settlement in New York City, participating in Ba-duan-jin exercise. Ba-duan-jin is a traditional form of Chinese Qigong, made up of eight simple movements, which are designed to improve overall health. If practiced regularly it can help with the balance of the body, vitalize blood circulation, strengthen muscles, bones, and enhance physical fitness and mental health. This training program is coordinated by Dr. Yuhwa Eva Lu, New York University, Silver School of Social Work, and sponsored by LanguageMate."
